Kurt R. Schmerberg, Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Kurt R. Schmerberg represents clients locally and regionally and is the Chief Financial Officer of the firm. Schmerberg has provided real estate counseling and valuation services for a wide variety of clients since 1977.
Professional work comprises both institutional and fee appraisal assignments that include many property types, from residential to special purpose properties. His clients include legal professionals, lending institutions, corporations, general and limited partnerships and individual property owners. Certified as an expert witness for: the Michigan Tax Tribunal; Washtenaw County Circuit, District and Probate Courts, Schmerberg is regularly asked to prepare and present valuation analysis for litigation purposes.
Mr. Schmerberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Michigan. He is a former Vice Chairman of the Central Michigan Subchapter of the Appraisal Institute and is currently an Associate Member in the Institute. Kurt is a state certified general appraiser in the State of Michigan, a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved appraiser and holds Michigan Builders and Real Estate Brokers Licenses.
